Design enthusiast Roland Hammargren creates Rowico in Halmstad, Sweden.
1976 Roland extends his accessory and cowhide rug business to include furniture.
Roland’s son Mikael becomes CEO of Rowico.
Production, which has been concentrated in Italy, expands to other European countries.
Rowico launches Amadeus, our first in-house designed furniture line. It’s still going strong today.
We move to a 15,000 m² state-of-the-art office and warehouse to facilitate international distribution.
The increased popularity of flat-screen TVs leads us to design our first line of TV stands and cabinets.
17 years after the introduction of Amadeus, it is still going strong and becomes hugely popular in Norway.
Our international departments form a global buying group
Rowico acquires one of its major competitors, Bitc MÖBEL AB. Overnight we become a larger player, with a broader product portfolio and representation in England.
We make our debut at the Shanghai furniture fair.
Mikael’s children, Jessica and Fredrik, join Rowico – the third generation to do so. Mikael remains active in the company.
International expansion continues as we exhibit at the IMM International Interiors show in Cologne.
