1971

Design enthusiast Roland Hammargren creates Rowico in Halmstad, Sweden.

 
 

1976

1976 Roland extends his accessory and cowhide rug business to include furniture.

1979

Roland’s son Mikael becomes CEO of Rowico.

 
 

1980

Production, which has been concentrated in Italy, expands to other European countries.

1982

Rowico launches Amadeus, our first in-house designed furniture line. It’s still going strong today.

 
 

1988

We move to a 15,000 m² state-of-the-art office and warehouse to facilitate international distribution.

1994

The increased popularity of flat-screen TVs leads us to design our first line of TV stands and cabinets.

 
 

1999

17 years after the introduction of Amadeus, it is still going strong and becomes hugely popular in Norway.

2006

Our international departments form a global buying group

 
 

2009

Rowico acquires one of its major competitors, Bitc MÖBEL AB. Overnight we become a larger player, with a broader product portfolio and representation in England.

2012

We make our debut at the Shanghai furniture fair.

 
 

2015

Mikael’s children, Jessica and Fredrik, join Rowico – the third generation to do so. Mikael remains active in the company.

2017

International expansion continues as we exhibit at the IMM International Interiors show in Cologne.
